Dear Mr Mohieldin Salim,
I am writing to you concerning the case of Abdel Mageed Salih Abbakar Haroun held at a police station in the town of Khartoum. Sudanese National Security forces detained him on 28 August 2009 in Khartoum 2. Up to now it is not known were he is and he has not got any legal practitioner.
I call on the Government of Sudan to release the detainee immediately.
Abdel Mageed was committed to peace, and a trainer in nonviolence. He was also active for social and demoratic changes, as it was signed in the CPA (Comprehensive Peace Agreement). His detention is a violation of the CPA and we call on the Sudanese Government to immediately release him.
