Registration extended until 3 June 2012

With only two weeks to go until our international study conference on "Countering the Militarisation of Youth", which takes place from 8-10 June 2012 in Darmstadt, Germany, open, we are in the middle of the last crazy organising drive. We now have registrations from a wide range of countries - from Chile to South Korea, from Sweden to South Africa, and we hope that more people will join us. As there is still some space, we extended the registration deadline to Sunday, 3 June 2012, so you still have a chance.Take it and register now online or download the offline registration form!

The programme of the conference will begin with a focus on analysing the different ways youth are militarised, looking at issues such as military and public spaces, Militainment, military and education, Queer/gender and militarism, and the recruitment of immigrants and low income youth. The second part of the conference will focus on the exchange of experiences of resistance, including, but not limited to Queer resistance, resistance in educational settings, the role of veterans, direct action against the militarisation of youth, and children's rights.

The conference reader is under development at http://wri-irg.org/militarisationofyouth/DarmstadtReader.

A draft programme is available at http://wri-irg.org/programmes/militarisationofyouth/conference-programme.
