Dear friends,

We would like to invite you to join us in a celebration of the life of our friend and colleague Howard Clark. On Saturday 1 February at 18.00 hrs, family, friends and colleagues will gather at the Albergue Juvenil San Fermín in Madrid, to coincide with the celebrations in the state of Spain of the School Day for Nonviolence and Peace, marked by the day of the assassination of Gandhi on 30 January.

At this celebration, there will be performances from both the Arcadia and Vallekanta choirs - the two choirs in which Howard sang in Madrid - and there will be time to share our thoughts and memories of Howard. The celebration will take place in both Spanish and English, and there will be interpretation into both languages, so if you would like to prepare something in advance, please send it to javier@wri-irg.org so we can have it translated. There will also be food and refreshments at the end of the celebration.

For people coming from abroad or from outside Madrid, we can find local housing where you can stay with friends of the WRI network. If you would prefer to stay in a hotel, we can also provide information about hotels where you can book a room.

You can either arrive on Friday 31 January or on Saturday 1 February itself. Please confirm your attendance at javier@wri-irg.org or +44 2072784040, so we can help you with accommodation and any other practical details.

The address of the Albergue Juvenil San Fermín is: Avda. de los Fueros 36, 28041, Madrid.

We look forward to this gathering to celebrate Howard's life and the many people he touched.

Kind regards,

Christine Schweitzer, Dominique Saillard, Hannah Brock, Javier Gárate, Pelao Carvallo, Sergeiy Sandler, Susan Kingsland
(The WRI Office and Executive)
