WRI's Nonviolence Programme aims to strengthen and deepen our understanding of nonviolence, both from a strategic and campaigning point of view, and to develop and provide tools and support to groups using nonviolence. To advance further towards this goal, WRI is organising an International Nonviolence Training Exchange in Bilbao, the Basque Country from the 26th to the 29th of October, 2008.

In 2008 the ESF, European Social Forum, will be arranged in Malmö, Sweden. The Swedish network Ofog has taken the initiative for a peace forum, European Peace Action, as a part of the ESF. Now we would like your support in making this a forum for developing common strategies and campaigns for peace groups and campaigns in Europe, with a focus on direct action and grassroots organising.

The forum will run between the 17- 21 September 2008 and the programme will contain presentations, discussions, cultural events, actions and networking.

During NATO—Game Over on 22 March 2008 activists from all over Europe will nonviolently try to enter and close the NATO headquarters in Brussels, in order to prevent further war crimes and military occupations.
