Demand an end to the punishment of Israeli conscientious objectors

A campaign by War Resisters' International in co-operation with New Profile and Connection e.V.

In Israel, men and women are obliged to perform military service. Conscientious objection to military service is only accepted in exceptional cases - and the military authorities' clampdown on conscientious objectors is now (2004) stronger than ever.

Because of this, five Israeli conscientious objectors received prison sentences of one year at the beginning of this year. Because of this, men and women, conscripts and reservists, receive repeated sentences to military arrest. They all ask for international support.
