Dear Mr Shaul Mofaz, Minister of Defence

I am very concerned about the imprisonment of conscientious objector Laura Milo.
On 23 August, Laura Milo was sentenced to a prison term of 14 days for refusing to serve in the occupation in any form, and to enlist in the IDF.
Lauro Milo already was sentenced for the same "offence" back in February 2004 - one prison terms of 14 days. She then petitioned the High Court of Justice to exempt her from military service for reasons of conscience, but her petition was rejected on 9 August.
The United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention ruled in November 2003, that this kind of repeated imprisonment is arbitrary (Opinion 24/2003).
I therefore call on you to stop this practice, and to stop the repeated imprisonment of Lauro Milo, which already now is in breach of international legal standards.
I therefore urge you to immediately release all imprisoned conscientious objectors. I urge you to respect human rights.
