Dear Mr Shaul Mofaz, Minister of Defence

I am very concerned about the imprisonment of conscientious objector Daniel Tsal.
On 25 July, Daniel Tsal was sentenced to his fifth consecutive prison term. I fear that his fate might be similar to the one of Noam Bahat, Adam Maor, Shimri Tsamaret, Haggai Matar, and Matan Kaminer, who were sentenced to 1 year imprisonment after repeated disciplinary sentences. The United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention ruled in November 2003, that his repeated imprisonment was arbitrary (Opinion 24/2003).
I therefore call on you to stop this practice, and to stop the repeated imprisonment of Daniel Tsal, which already now is in breach of international legal standards.
I therefore urge you to immediately release all imprisoned conscientious objectors. I urge you to respect human rights.
